We hire rarely and carefully, and we keep the team senior.
Schools run on software that mostly isn't good enough. Fixing that is a long job with real consequences for staff workload and children's outcomes, which is why we care who joins.
What it's like here
- Small team, high trust, very little process for its own sake
- You will speak to schools directly — everyone does
- Weekly releases, short feedback loops, no quarterly theatre
- Craft matters: we would rather ship one excellent thing than five adequate ones
Roles we're usually hiring for
- Product engineers — TypeScript, React, Postgres; comfortable owning a feature end to end
- Implementation and migration specialists — data-literate, calm under a cutover weekend
- School practice leads — experienced bursars, data managers or senior leaders moving out of school
- Support engineers — people who like solving the actual problem, not closing the ticket
